Does DexThemes modify Codex files?
No. DexThemes prepares an import string. Codex owns the final Appearance import and asks you to approve the change.

How to use it
Copy, open Appearance, import
- 1Open the interactive previewConfirm the light variant and palette in context.
- 2Copy the themeDexThemes copies the complete codex-theme-v1 import string.
- 3Approve it in CodexOpen Settings → Appearance → Import theme, paste, and approve.
